This is a 10 inch fish which is well camouflaged with yellowy brown and white patches. This is another predatory fish that plays dead on the bottom awaiting for an unsuspecting fish to go by. The males breeding colour is the same purple red of other Nimbochromis so it does not play dead for long during breeding season. |

As with all Nimbochromis this fish also plays dead on the bottom awaiting to suck in any unsuspecting young fish. Males are yellow and blue speckled with blue green heads, females have browny yellow and white patches. |

Another fish that plays dead awaiting unsuspecting prey. Males reach 8 inches and have a yellow body with electric blue head and lips with a bright blue flash of colour down their head and back. Females have browny yellow and white patches and a white edge on the dorsal fin. |
